It is becoming more well-known that once an individual employee is successful, he will help to increase the success of the company for which he works. This goes back to the idea of a team being only as strong as the weakest link. And while businesses can succeed with some team members doing the bare minimum, small businesses need dedicated, successful employees to increase their overall business success.
Here are 3 scenarios in which a person became successful, thus increasing the success of their business.
Scenario #1 – Angie was worn out from working at a company that didnt appreciate her. She moved on to a company with a dedication to respecting their employees. Within weeks, Angie was given the respect she deserved, and the quality of her work increased. She went home a happy camper every night and was always willing to help out on team projects when needed, because she was a valued member of the team.
Scenario #2 – Ryan had been working in a production company since graduating college, and liked his job. He just didnt love his job. He aspired to more within the company. Because he had a good relationship with his supervisor, he sat down with her and discussed his career goals and desire to move up within the company. They laid out a 12-month growth plan together; after which Ryan would be promoted if he showed dedication and improvement in his job. Ryan worked hard every day to meet the goals outlined with his supervisor, and she gave him the encouragement he needed to continue improving himself. After the 12 months, Ryan has shown significant growth, and was promoted. Because of this, Ryan is contributing more to his company, and increasing the quality of projects on which he is working.
Scenario #3 – Mike was just hired at a communications firm. He is a talented account manager, but he lacks in organization. On his first day at work, he was given access to the companys online business organization solution, which allows him to plan projects, store files and communicate with team members. This solution has helped increase Mikes organization, and he now has been able to increase his account management skills and client happiness because of this tool.
As you can see, you can improve the success of the people in your business by giving them 3 things: respect, encouragement and the right tools to succeed. With these 3 things, employees are empowered to succeed, and will bring that success over into the business.
